New York State Sen. Dan Stec, a Republican and Navy veteran, is running for Congress. Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-N.Y., who will resign from her position as the next U.S. adviser to the UN, has thrown his helmet in the circle. After Stefanik formally leaves Congress, there will be a unique vote for the 21st Congressional District in New York. In an interview on December 24 Stec told WWNY,” At the end of the day, it’s about representing the neighborhood, and for the past 12 times in Albany, I know what it means to indicate the area, and if I can do that in Albany I am certain I can do that in Washington,” Stec said. The North Country local, whose state senate area lies within Stefanik’s congressional district, claimed he is the best candidate to win the couch because he has the highest brand recognition it. ” My explanation is that I am the most credible. You want to put forward your most likely-to-win prospect if the Republican majority and holding this seats are important to you, Stec told the outlet.” No one can compare the numbers like I can with the amount of district I presently represent,” Stec said. In support of his claim that he is best positioned to fight the Democratic candidate in the particular vote, he cited his history in the New York legislature and the 104, 000 vote he won in the previous election for condition congress, which is almost half of the total vote Stefanik won in her bid for re-election. ” I am proud of my track record, my resume, and my principles. I don’t have any votes that I feel embarrassed about having to explain, as perhaps someone from the other party I’ve worked with would have to do, Stec said. WHAT CAN BE RUN TO REPLACE THE STEFANIK IN THE HOUSE? Although Stefanik won a sixth term to fill the position of U.N. ambassador in his new cabinet, North County, New York, was chosen by President-elect Donald Trump to represent the district. Stec joins Sticker Mule CEO Anthony Constantino, a political outsider whose claim to fame is a 100-foot” Vote for Trump” sign he installed in upstate New York, in the campaign to be the Republican nominee to succeed Stefanik. Constantino is self-funding his campaign and has pledged$ 2.6 million to the effort. According to WWNY, state Assemblymen Robert Smullen and Christopher Tague, as well as Rensselaer County Executive Steven McLaughlin, are other Republicans mentioned as potential candidates.
