The statement was made as Modi and Trump met to discuss economic ties, trade relations, and military cooperation between the two nations.
Addressing reporters, Modi emphasized India’s commitment to reviving its heritage and ensuring significant national development by 2047. Speaking through a translator, he remarked, “Inspired by an expression from America, our goal for a developed India aligns with the vision to ‘Make India Great Again,’ or MIGA.” He further highlighted the importance of Indo-U.S. collaboration, stating, “When MAGA and MIGA join forces, it creates a mega partnership for prosperity. Another crucial development was Trump’s confirmation of the approval of the extradition of Tahawwur Rana, a Canadian citizen of Pakistani origin, who was involved in the planning of the 2008 Mumbai terrorist attacks. Trump stated, “I am pleased to announce that my administration has authorized the extradition of one of the key perpetrators behind the horrific 2008 Mumbai terrorist attack, ensuring he faces justice in India.”
In a gesture of diplomatic cooperation, Modi also pledged that India would accept the return of Indian nationals residing illegally in the United States following deportation proceedings.
